Brow Lamination: Fluffy, Fuller Eyebrows With No Downtime

Love the way your eyebrows look after you work them into shape every morning, but hate the beauty routine that’s required? We get it – beauty is work. But sometimes it doesn't have to be! If you want to keep your brows in pristine shape without all the added time and effort, then you may have found the perfect solution in the lamination process. If you’ve never had one, or even if you’ve never heard of the process, we’re here to guide you through everything we think you should know before booking your appointment.

What is brow lamination?

Let’s get down to the basics. When you get a brow lamination, you are practically signing your eyebrows up for a miniature perm treatment. While laminated brows won’t leave your brow hairs curly, they will lock them into the perfect brow shape. How does this work? Simple – a set of creams are applied to your brow hairs that chemically reset their shape and placement. In the hands of a professional, your eyebrows will be looking snatched in no time.

What is the end result of brow lamination

Once the treatment has been completed, you will be left with eyebrows that have been professionally shaped and expertly placed to accent your facial features. This service provides results that last around six to eight weeks so long as the appropriate aftercare steps are taken.

What separates brow lamination from other eyebrow services

Brow lamination services are the only brow services that ensure that your brow hairs stay perfectly positioned. While other services such as waxing, threading, and tinting your eyebrows can enhance the shape of your brow and fill in any sparse areas, neither service will keep your brows looking fluffy and picture perfect for weeks to come.

The benefits of brow lamination

We’ve already hinted at the benefits that a brow lamination may provide, but during this section we’re going to go a little more in depth so that you understand the full range of benefits that come with having laminated brows.

For fuller eyebrows, brow lamination is a great solution

Believe it or not, it’s fairly common for individuals to have patches of their eyebrow that are not completely filled in to their liking. Additionally, some clients may have incredibly light, fine hair that makes their eyebrows look thin and narrow. For both parties a brow lamination is a great way to achieve the thicker, fuller look that can't be obtained naturally.

Eyebrow gaps get taken care of with brow lamination

Similarly, if you’re a person who has a scar or a clear gap somewhere across your eyebrow, getting your brows laminated can reduce or completely diminish the visibility of any inconsistencies. In fact, brow lamination can also help those who fell victim to over-plucking their eyebrows back in the day and are now struggling to reproduce the fullness they once had.

Step by step process of brow lamination

Interested in moving forward and jumping into your first brow lamination session? We’re happy to hear that! If you’re not familiar with the process, we’ve laid out the step-by-step for what you can expect during your appointment.

Remember, being prepared and well informed on the process is key to a successful experience. The last thing you want is for your time and effort to be wasted because you were not fully prepared or aware of how to properly maintain your brows

How to prepare for a brow lamination session

When it comes to preparation, the best thing you can do is avoid using retinol or other exfoliating skin care products for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Additionally, if you’re aware of any allergies to products and treatments within the beauty community, try to bring that to the attention of your esthetician prior to committing your brows to the process. Otherwise, simply show up to your appointment with a clean, makeup free face so that your brow professional can get straight to work.

How does a brow lamination appointment go?

Now that you’ve done everything to make this smooth sailing on your end, it’s time to get to the actual lamination process! Your tech will begin by having you sit back on a treatment table while they clean your brows. This step removes any dirt or body oil from interfering with the lamination process. Once cleaned your brow tech will start by applying a cream to your brows that soften the strands of hair and allow your brows to become malleable. Once positioned in the correct shape, and after about five to ten minutes, the cream is removed and a neutralizer is applied to set the brows to your desired look.

Aftercare for brow lamination

Now that the whole process has been completed, your esthetician should walk you through the appropriate aftercare instructions. Most of the recommendations will be to avoid wetting your brows for 24 hours, as well as being mindful to avoid sweating and direct sunlight for at least 48 hours.
